The application period for Free Rivers Fund grants for 2021 starts now.
Almost all of the 2020 grants were given out towards the selected projects by now and we will give you some updates and stories about the 2020 projects in the upcoming weeks – where the money went and how the projects are doing in their fights for free flowing rivers.
Thanks to the ongoing support of our partners in the kayaking industry we are happy to announce that again we will be able to give Free Rivers Fund grants in 2021. The application period for next year’s grants starts now and ends on the 4th of January 2021.
The application process is easy: You just need a river, a project and a plan of how the money will be used to help free flowing rivers. The main goal of the Free Rivers Fund is to offer support to grass roots projects that fight for free flowing rivers as unbureaucratic as possible. That means to apply the project does not need to be a registered NGO or organization, they can just as well be individuals who are ready to step up to help their local, endangered river. We carefully select the projects where the funding will make the biggest difference for river protection. That means that small, grassroots, community-run projects have a bigger chance of receiving funding as large, established organizations!
So if you know a river that is threatend and you have a plan to do something to protect it: we are happy to suport you – apply now!
